Quality Control Inspector/CMM Operator
Description

Reporting to the Supervisor , Quality Control the incumbent is responsible for performing quality control and inspection tasks following company procedures, Attention to detail required , ensuring that defect-free parts are delivered on-time to customers.

Responsibilities

Quality Control Inspection:

Level 1

  • Read and interpret technical documentation , blueprints, and 3D models.
  • Basic math , geometry, and trigonometry skills.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T.
  • Operation of manual tools(tri-mics, air gauges, counter bore gauges, gore gauges, protractors, gauge blocks, Vernier calipers, height gauges, sonic gauges, micrometers, pin gauges, snap dial gauges, hardness and conductivity measurement equipment).
  • Identify and raise NCRs.

Level 2

  • All of Level 1 Quality Control Inspection duties.
  • Operation of profile-meters.
  • Performs visual inspection.
  • Performs final inspection.
  • Perform receiving inspection.
  • Validation of NCRs.

Level 3:

  • All of Level 2 Quality Control Inspection duties.
  • Calibration of hand guages.
  • Maintenance of bore, snap, and groove gauges.
  • Participates in internal audits.
  • Assists in improving departmental processes and procedures.

CMM Operation:

Level 1:

  • All of Level 1  Quality Control Inspection duties.
  • Operates one type of CMM.
  • Performs setups for CMM inspection.
  • Performs Manual alignments.
  • Performs probe calibrations.

Level 2:

  • All of Level 1 CMM Operations duties and Level 2 Quality Control Inspection duties.
  • Operates any CMM.
  • Possesses basic editing skills in one CMM programming software language being used.
  • Inspects complicated part geometric s.
  • Evaluates CMM results.
  • Evaluates non-conforming  CMM results and makes recommendations for corrective actions.

Level 3:

  • All of Level 2 CMM Operation duties and Level 3 Quality Control duties.
  • Possesses basic editing skills in all CMM programming software languages being used.
  • Performs ball bar calibration tasks.
  • Performs artifact validation on the CMMs.
  • Performs daily CMM maintenance activities.
  • Programs SPC software.
Qualifications

Knowledge/Education:

  • Knowledge of the methods and processes required for manufacturing machined Defense and Aerospace details and assemblies.

Experience:

  • 1+ years

Skills:

  • Proficient working experience with CMM and manual measurements instruments
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office , databases and ERP systems
  •  Strong attention to deatail
  • Strong accuracy when taking and reading measurements

Abilities:

  • Able to be organized and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
