Project Management Office

Reporting to the Senior Manager Program Office, the Project Manager is responsible and accountable for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and timely completion of defense and aerospace projects; ensuring that the implementation of all project management processes are consistent and accurately reflect Cormer’s strategy plans, business commitments and goals.

As a key member of the Program Management team, the Project Manager responsibilities include the planning, execution, and finalization of projects according to strict deadlines and approved budgets. This involves acquiring resources and coordinating the collaborative efforts of team members and third-party contractors, consultants and customers to oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.

  • Develops project charters and execute and manage all project phases from conception to closeout;
  • Reports on project status, identification of risks, issues and opportunities to project team and sponsors;
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis;
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals;
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary;
  • Collaborates with other department managers for the acquisition of required project personnel from within the company;
  • Establishes and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders;
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel;
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team;
  • Develops and manages project plans;
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate performance measurement indicators;
  • Tracks and reports on project milestones and deliverables;
  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations;
  • Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team including analyzing results and effectively and efficiently troubleshoot problem areas;
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises attainable contingency plans;
  • Defines project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle;
  • Strategically coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises project team members and contractors, and positively influences positive actions and accountability for their assigned work;
  • Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project;
  • Tracks and reports project hours and all related expenses as required;
  • Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensuring the timely and accurate invoicing and monitoring of project receivables;
  • Analyses and reports on project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization

 

Qualifications

 

  • 1-2 years of Project Management experience in related area such as manufacturing, aerospace or other similar industry.
  • 1-2 years of high level contract development and monitoring;
  • Experience of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications and the utilization of ERP Systems;
  • Proficient in production of accurate and timely information and to use it to communicate key messages to staff at all levels;
  • Well-developed communication skills with experience of developing positive working relationships at all levels and be a team player;
  • Degree or equivalent relevant qualification;
  • PMP certification or equivalent desirable;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Self-motivation and a flexible disposition;
  • Action-orientated, able to think and act ahead of time;
  • Committed to achieving results and ability to work under pressure
